Health, fitness, nutrition and life coaching course provider Future Fit Group has signed the age-friendly employer pledge.

Launched by the Centre for Ageing Better, the pledge is a commitment by UK employers that acknowledge the value of older workers and aim to create a more age-inclusive workplace.

By signing, the group has committed to take at least one action a year to improve the way it recruits, manages, retains and supports older employees, as well as valuing the experience, skills and dedication of staff over the age of 50.

It will identify a senior sponsor for age inclusion within its workforce and ensure that age is specifically named within its equality, diversity and inclusion policies, for anyone looking to get back into work or begin a new career later in life.

As the group believes inclusive workplaces strengthens its workforce, it is taking action to improve the recruitment, retention, and development of workers aged 50 and over, and to become a recognised leader in age-inclusive employment. By drawing from a wider pool of applicants, it aims to ensure older workers can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the organisation.

The commitment is part of Future Fit Group’s broader mission to champion healthy ageing and lifelong wellbeing, with building an age-inclusive workforce being a progression of this.

Through evidence-based programmes, professional education and partnerships with health and care providers, the group’s goal is to actively reshape how people age, ensuring older adults are not just supported, but equipped to lead fuller, more active lives.

Megan Yorke, chief administrative officer at Future Fit Group, said: “Signing the age-friendly employer pledge reflects our belief that age should never be a barrier to opportunity. We see the experience and value older workers bring, and this pledge strengthens our commitment to recognising the strengths each person contributes and ensuring our people feel valued, respected, and able to thrive.”
