The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has launched a free online stress management tool to help managers deal with and prevent stress among their staff.

The tool, which was developed with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), is designed to help managers understand how their own behaviour can affect staff and provides learning materials to improve management skills to reduce stress in the workplace.

Ben Willmott, head of public policy at the CIPD, said: “Managers can either cause or exacerbate stress or help prevent and manage it.

“This tool enables managers to understand how their management style impacts on others and can help them change their behaviour over time.”
