Employees at BNY Mellon have volunteered on two horticultural schemes to support disabled people across Greater Manchester.
During the winter, five employees from the global asset management and securities services firm helped install a raised bed for growing vegetables and lay the foundations for concrete paths at an allotment site in Crumpsall. In addition, staff have helped cut back foliage and lay a woodchip path at Debdale Park in Gorton.
Staff from BNY Mellon have been working in conjunction with disabled people’s charity Breakthrough UK, which uses the sites to train horticultural and grounds maintenance skills.
Jackie Williams, managing director at BNY Mellon Asset Servicing in Manchester, said: "We are very pleased to have been able to support Breakthrough UK and the work it is doing.
"Our employees here in Manchester take our commitment to supporting local good causes very seriously and have been putting their volunteering days to good use by offering their time and energy to assist numerous schemes across Greater Manchester."
