Azets UK

Audit, business compliance, tax, payroll and risk advisory firm Azets UK has appointed Damien Russell as its new chief people officer.

Russell will sit on the Azets UK board and be responsible for the delivery of its people strategy, which includes HR and talent acquisition.

He will replace former chief people officer Helen Hall, who has taken a new strategic role as head of diversity and inclusion (DI), and environmental, social and governance (ESG). She will lead the development and implementation of the firm’s DEI and ESG strategies and put a dedicated focus on these areas, as well as talent development.

Both roles report directly into Peter Gallanagh, chief executive officer of Azets UK.

Gallanagh said: “We’re continually investing in people and advisory rich services, and these appointments strengthen our breadth and depth of experience and expertise to help our clients achieve their ambitions. We’ve also made several promotions to corporate functions with a focus on operational efficiency. Damien is a highly effective leader and will continue to build our people strategy and drive cultural change, as we continue to be an agile, open, technology-led advisory business and accelerate growth.

“Azets is a purpose-driven organisation that places inclusion at the heart of its values. I’m extremely pleased to welcome Helen Hall into her new role as head of DI and ESG. Helen will be integral to bringing to life our DI and ESG ambitions as we strive to create a fully inclusive environment and improve the lives of our colleagues, clients and communities in a sustainable way.”
