Aviva UK Health has set up an arrangement with Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Insurance Company to provide expatriates in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with compliant private medical insurance (PMI) products.
The partnership means that employers with staff based in the UAE will now be offered one of four bespoke international PMI products.
The benefits available through these products are designed to meet the needs of the local area, so employers with staff based in the UAE will no longer be required to purchase local insurance to satisfy visa requirements.
Aviva UK Health has also teamed up with Neuron, a specialist third party administrator based in Dubai, to provide administration and management services.
Neuron will manage all claims for treatment in the UAE and work closely with a network of hospitals to arrange treatment and direct settlement of invoices.
The new product range will be available from 1 March 2012.
Teresa Rogers, international business lead, Aviva UK Health, said: “Offering health provision in the UAE is complex due to different legislative requirements across each of the Emirates.
“We have worked with a specialist international law firm to help us develop bespoke products for employers based in the UAE, and we believe that our four products will enable us to respond to changes in legislation and needs both now and in the future.”
