Amazon wells fargo

Online retailer Amazon and financial services firms Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase have been named as some of LinkedIn’s top employers to work for in the US in 2023.

The social media platform has published the list for seven years, highlighting the 50 best US workplaces that help employees grow their career by looking at how they advance both within an organisation and when they leave. To be eligible, businesses must have had at least 500 employees as of 31 December 2022 in the country, and attrition can be no higher than 10% over the year-long methodology time period.

Amazon ranked first on the list for the third consecutive year and has been among the top three organisations for six consecutive years. LinkedIn also recognised it as a top employer in Japan and Spain, where it ranked first, and in the UK, India and Italy, where it ranked second.

It was praised for its education and skills training, and its benefits package that includes health insurance from an employee’s first day, a 401(k) plan, up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave and free mental health support.

The LinkedIn top 10 US employers for 2023 were:

  1. Amazon
  2. Wells Fargo
  3. JP Morgan Chase
  4. Bank of America
  5. Alphabet
  6. AT and T
  7. UnitedHealth Group

A LinkedIn spokesperson said: “Our methodology uses LinkedIn data to rank employers based on eight pillars that have been shown to lead to career progression: ability to advance, skills growth, stability, external opportunity, affinity, gender diversity, educational background, and employee presence in the country.

"This analysis represents the world seen through the lens of LinkedIn data, drawn from the anonymised and aggregated profile information of LinkedIn's members around the world.”

Beth Galetti, senior vice president of people, experience, and technology at Amazon US, said: “We love working with passionate, customer-obsessed people from all backgrounds who help build the future.

"We’re proud to be named LinkedIn’s top employer in the US for the third year in a row thanks to the contributions of hundreds of thousands of Amazon employees across the country, and we’ll keep working to make every day better for our employees, customers, and partners.”
