Insurer Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe (AND-E UK) has promoted Gemma Robinson to the role of people and culture director.
As a HR leader with more than two decades of experience, Robinson was appointed to her new role just before her seven-month maternity leave in 2022. She will assist with the firm’s ambitious growth plans, and build and sustain a strong people culture that will be critical to its success.
Robinson’s previous role at the firm was head of people and engagement, which she has held since 2020, and has supported nearly 600 employees. She has been in people-related roles for 23 years, and has held a number of lead HR roles over eight years at Balfour Beatty and other HR positions for 15 years prior.
Robinson said: “My aim is to ensure our colleagues feel empowered to succeed and connected to our purpose. If we look after our people first, they will look after our customers and our business. I’m really passionate about what AND-E is working towards and genuinely excited to be part of a team thinking about a future that where people move differently.
“It takes a forward thinking, truly inclusive employer that sees the character and competency of its colleagues. It takes a culture of caring, and unwavering support, and a connected community of brilliant people who have each other’s back every single day. Together, these foster one important thing: trust.”
Warren Hetz, chief executive officer of Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe, added: “A business can only reach its full potential when its entire team is united in its ambition, and where everyone knows they are valued as an individual. Our people and culture team are, therefore, fundamental to our success and we have enormous confidence that Gemma can provide the leadership that will ensure our people are heard, feel part of our journey and understand the part they play in our success.”
