benefits 430

More than three-quarters (80%) of employer respondents feel that it is important to offer employees a wide range of benefits choices, according to research by Grass Roots Employee Solutions.

Its survey of 63 HR and benefits managers in both public and private sector UK organisations also found that around a third (32%) of respondents view the growth of their employee benefits offering as critically important to the organisation.

The research also found:

  • Just 5% of respondents do not consider the growth of their employee benefits programme as a priority.
  • 75% of respondents believe that providing a varied array of benefits helps to attract and retain top talent.
  • 11% do not agree that providing a varied employee benefits offering aids talent attraction and retention.

Stephen Holt, commercial director at Grass Roots, said: “No two members of staff are the same and where one is motivated by maximum salary another will be attracted by health benefits and the next by technology.

"As our research has shown, understanding [an organisation's] employee base and the preferences of those [it] wishes to attract in order to offer the right benefits choices is an essential part of minimising any talent shortages.”
