Bupa has launched its diagnosis benefit, Business Fit, to all 30,000 UK employees.
The healthcare provider’s aim is to offer early intervention to help reduce sickness absence, as well as to diagnose mental health issues quickly and provide physiotherapy treatment for muscle, bone and joint conditions.
The benefit includes:
- Quick diagnosis and treatment.
- Physiotherapy to treat muscle, bone and joint conditions.
- Direct self-referral for mental health issues.
- 24/7 access to telephone help lines and medical advice.
Patrick Watt, corporate director at Bupa Health and Wellbeing, said: “The biggest causes of ill health are musculoskeletal conditions and mental health. We’re seeing a big increase in mental health claims, but also a lack of information.
“We are making sure that we are offering a valued benefit, because, in the current environment, salary increases are either nothing or very small.
“Employers are having to be much more creative on how to enhance the value of reward packages through health and wellbeing.”
