Workplace Options will provide a free carer’s pack to the employers it work with during Carer’s Week, which runs from 18-24 June.

The pack is designed to help employees look after their wellbeing, as well as learn how to effectively balance their working lives with their caring responsibilities.

It includes information and fact sheets on:

  • Gadgets, equipment and services to make life as a carer easier.
  • Rights as a carer.
  • Looking after physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Balancing work and caring responsibilities.
  • Alan King, managing partner at Workplace Options, said:Many carers in the UK suffer due to a lack of understanding about what they do. Some don't even recognise themselves as carers.

“This has a real and negative impact on their health, finances, working and social life, and general wellbeing.

“Employers often struggle with knowing how to support carers, and productivity, attendance and retention often dips when the complex responsibilities of working carers becomes too great. We hope that the carer's pack will help support individuals and businesses alike.”
