Whitbread launched its employee recognition awards scheme at a five-star event at Wembley Arena. The hospitality and leisure firm awarded four teams across four categories with a host of runners ups. The winning teams all had a star named after them as well as receiving a number of leisure vouchers that can be spent on holidays and excursions.
Each team of runner ups was also given a cash prize to spend on a team party or event . The award ceremony was the first time managers from all of its businesses, such as Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee and David Lloyd Leisure, have gathered to discuss the way the organisation works.
The winning teams were the Premier Travel Inn integration team that helped with the two hotels' recent merger, the Heathrow Terminal 4 Costa Coffee chain, Beefeater in Penn Cottage and the Premier Travel Inn in Aberdeen. Runners up included Whitbread's payroll department, Brewer Fayre in Loch Iall and TGI Friday's in Edinburgh.
