British employers are among the top in Europe on flexible working and work-life balance.
The UK has scored a ‘B’ grade when it comes to flexible working and work-life balance, according to the Family and Parenting Institute (FPI).
The charity’s Family-Friendly Report Card showed British employers are top among European nations in allowing staff to switch from full- to part-time work and are among the leaders in offering flexible working arrangements.
The FPI said: “The coalition government has promised to ‘extend the right to request flexible working to all employees, consulting with business on how best to do so’ – we would like to see this happen within 12 months.
“In the longer term, all British workers must have the right to flexible working, not just the right to request flexible working. Employers must be better informed about the issue.
