Footwear lifestyle retailer Genesco has named Kyle Polischuk as its first chief human resources officer to lead its human resources function.

In the newly created role, Polischuk will oversee Genesco’s HR initiatives, including talent management and recruitment, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement and total reward. She will report to Mimi Vaughn, board chair, president and chief executive officer, and serve on the retailer’s executive management committee.

With a 20-year background in consumer, retail and human resources, Polischuk joins from off-price ecommerce portfolio firm Rue Gilt Group, where she was responsible for people and talent strategy and its connection to business goals. Prior to this, she was chief human resources officer at J Jill, leading its talent direction with a creative, collaborative and data-centric approach, while aligning with strategic objectives.

Other previous roles include Talbots, where Polischuk served as vice president, human resources. She led its total scope of human resources, including serving on the executive committee during its business turnaround.
