The number of people turning to their employer for guidance on their pension is at its highest level in five years at 19%, according to the Scottish Widows UK Pensions Report 2011.
The report, which surveyed more than 5,000 people, found the number who turn to friends and family as a trusted source of advice has also increased, rising by 4% since 2009 to 25%.
More than half (56%) said their employer’s pension scheme was a financial benefit, and 41% said a quality pension was an important factor in deciding to accept a job offer from an employer.
Over one-third of respondents (36%) would think seriously about finding another job if their employer cut the amount it paid into their pension.
