Scottish and Southern Energy has held a month-long programme of financial education to help staff get up to speed with their personal finances.
Workshops were organised in one-day stints across key locations in the UK, including power stations and call centres, with up to four sessions a day taking place at each location.
The programme covered loans and investments, as well as information on the company group personal pension plan (GPP).
The sessions were run by the Financial Services Authority, which has also helped The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service run pilot financial education days for staff. If feedback from these information days, which took place at the end of last year, proves positive then the emergency service may hold more sessions.
