Barclays, Allianz, National Grid, Santander UK and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust are among the employers promoting National Work-Life Week, from 23 to 27 September, to staff.

Barclays is to run a week of activities focused on flexible working, including workshops for managers and a panel debate at the end of the week.

Meanwhile, Allianz will host a webinar for staff around stress and personal resilience. It will also promote Go Home on Time Day on 25 September.

National Grid is to host a seminar called ‘Parenting for the future’, which aims to help parents learn how to engage with their teenagers. It will also run a virtual campaign focused on highlighting the different types of flexible working arrangements, including less traditional ways to manage work-life balance.

Santander UK will re-launch its suite of flexible-working policies, including its flexible leave policy, career break guidelines and voluntary home-working policy. Throughout the week, it will also run a series of intranet articles around managing work-life commitments, and will publish online resources where employees can find more information, tips and case studies.

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust has a range of activites planned, including free 30-minute massages for employees, free one-month membership at a local diet and fitness centre, free tickets to the theatre on Go Home on Time Day,a free darts night on Friday 27 September, and a free staff trip to Cambridge on Saturday 28 September.

The charity Working Families will also provide a range of activities for employers between 23 and 27 September, including:

  • A series of podcasts on topics such as motivation, maximising performance and the power of the physical brain.
  • The announcement of the winners of its Top Employers for Working Families awards.
