Quorum Business Park concluded a three-week programme of inter-office sporting competitions with an afternoon of onsite fun and games for its staff.

The Quorum Games, a series of sports-themed challenges held throughout July, included tennis, football and hockey, as well as egg and spoon and three-legged races.

Staff at the Newcastle-based business park, which includes organisations such as Balfour Beatty, Convergys, HM Revenue and Customs, IBM and Tesco Bank, have been competing for the chance to win gold, silver and bronze medals for their organisation.

The closing event, which took place on 26 July, included a range of activities hosted onsite, such as Wellington-boot throwing, a bungee run, the cross-bar challenge, and giant Connect Four and Jenga games.

The event included a fundraising area, with all proceeds going to children’s charity Cash for Kids, as well as refreshments including local ice cream, New Zealand pies and a special smoothie bike.

Jen Taylor, events manager at Quorum Business Park, said: “Promoting health and fitness is a big part of our vision here at Quorum and the games provided employees with a chance to have fun, while competing with co-workers in a relaxed environment.

“The fun afternoon was not only a great way to conclude the Quorum Games, but it’s also a great way to showcase the sportsmanship and staff camaraderie on the park.”
