This week marks the beginning of the second week of the national lockdown put into place across England to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
During this time, we have been communicating with our customers regularly to provide more clarity over the details of the extended Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. This Furlough Scheme will now run into 31st March 2020 and is more generous than it was in September and October.
The scheme states that up until January 2021, the Government will contribute 80% of an employee’s usual salary for hours not worked. This grant does not cover pension contributions of employer’s National Insurance contributions, which the employer must pay.
