Social media platform TikTok has reported a 4.9% 2025 mean hourly gender pay gap for its Irish workforce.

The platform calculated the gap using employee information data as of 30 June, reflecting payments made between that date and 1 July 2024.

This year’s analysis calculates the difference in mean and median hourly pay and bonus pay between male and female employees, the proportion of men and women in a set of quartiles segmented according to pay, and the number of men and women who received bonus payments and benefits-in-kind.

Its median hourly gender pay gap was 1.5%, while its mean gender bonus gap was 6% and its median gender bonus gap stood at 6.3%. A total of 96.3% of women and 95% of men received performance-related bonuses that year. Furthermore, 95.8% of men and 94.5% of women received benefits-in-kind in that period.

TikTok Ireland’s upper pay quartile comprises 54.8% male and 45.2% female employees, while its lower pay quartile consists of 47.5% of male and 52.5% of female staff.

A TikTok spokesperson said: “More than 2.4 million people across Ireland come to TikTok every month. Ireland remains a key part of our global operations and continues to play a strategic role in our work across Europe. Our teams here include trust and safety, European privacy, security, and advertising support for small and medium-sized businesses. One way we measure our progress is through gender pay gap reporting.

“At TikTok, we aim to reflect the diversity of our platform in our workplace by fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all employees. Championing diversity and inclusion remains central to our values at TikTok. Building on our ongoing initiatives, we will continue our work to ensure our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve.”
