Kitchen remodeler Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens has become a real living wage employer, accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.
The organisation is now fully committed to paying its employees a minimum of £9.30 per hour to solidify its business values and beliefs. This sees employees at the organisation receive an additional 55p per hour above the minimum wage. The current legal minimum requirement that an organisation must pay its employees currently stands at £8.75 per hour for employees over 25.
Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens joins more than 6,000 employers which have already committed to paying employees the real living wage of £9.30 per hour country-wide, or £10.75 in London. The Living Wage Foundation is calling on all businesses across the UK to voluntarily pay employees this minimum amount exceeding the minimum legal requirement.
A spokesperson at Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens said: "We are very proud to announce that we are now officially an accredited living wage employer, committing to a long-term investment in our team based on our business values and beliefs."
