Amazon is to pay an appreciation bonus to its employees worldwide to reward them for their efforts during the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
All front-line employees and partners who worked at the business during June 2020 will be eligible.
Full-time employees will receive a $500 (£407) bonus, part-time Amazon employees will receive a $250 (£203) bonus, all front-line Amazon and Whole Foods Market leaders will receive a $1,000 (£814) bonus, delivery service partner owners will receive a $3,000 (£2,440) bonus, while Amazon Flex drivers, that worked more than ten hours in June 2020, will receive a $150 (£122) bonus.
This payment is in addition to the extra time off that the organisation has offered, as well as the $25 (£203 million) million relief fund that is available to Amazon employees if they are going through financial hardship.
Dave Clark, senior vice president at Amazon, said: "Our front-line operations teams have been on an incredible journey over the last few months, and we want to show our appreciation."
"My thanks and gratitude for the truly remarkable commitment to customers they [employees] have shown throughout this journey. I have never been more proud of our teams."
