Retailer Aldi will increase pay for its thousands of store assistants from Sunday 1 March.

Aldi will also increase pay for store apprentices to £12.02 per hour outside the M25, and to £13.22 per hour inside the M25. These rates are higher than the minimum wage for a first-year apprentice, which currently stands at £7.55 per hour.
The pay rise is part of a £36 million investment in pay and benefits, following a review, in 2026.
In addition, all Aldi staff will also receive enhanced family-friendly benefits, with maternity pay extended to 26 weeks at full pay.

That’s why we’re making such a significant investment in our promise to never be beaten on pay for our staff.”
