Something for the weekend: Streaming service Netflix has started the quest to find a high-flying individual to become its primary flight attendant, joining the aviation department in San Jose, California.

Listed on the business’ website, the role of flight attendant on a super midsize jet requires someone who can demonstrate a professional representation of the brand while performing their duties, perform a pre-flight inspection of all cabin, galley and cockpit emergency equipment, and conduct a briefing of safety and emergency procedures to ensure that the cabin is secure prior to taxi, takeoff and landing.

They must have the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds when loading and stocking the aircraft and be able to help with baggage loading if needed. Having the flexibility to work a varied work schedule that includes domestic and international travel, working on weekend and holiday days and for extended travel periods, will be necessary.

Netflix stated that the right candidate will be professionally trained in cabin and passenger safety and aircraft emergency evacuation, and will embrace its culture of operating with freedom, responsibility, independence and self-motivation in order to provide a seamless flying experience for passengers.

The overall market range for the role is $60,000 - $385,000 (£48,547 - £311,511). According to the business, this is based on total compensation versus only base salary, which is in line with its compensation philosophy. Netflix said it aims to pay employees at the top end of their market range.

The job advert stated: “It is our goal to provide the most outstanding aviation experience available, by using the best people and the best equipment, and providing the highest level of customer service possible. The aviation team helps Netflix reach the world more efficiently and effectively so the business can continue to create joy around the world.”
