The National Association of Head Teachers has brought in a new financial advice service to help school bosses manage their pensions. The organisation also hopes that the scheme will help it to attract new members. John Randall, commercial development manager, said: "We are promoting it because we want to ensure that our members can plan for a secure financial future.
They are on the teachers' pension scheme and therefore when they reach retirement they need to have access to financial advice. "It's a benefit for current members but also an attraction for potential members." The association is also launching a wine club for members in May. By popular request, heads will be able to get mail-order booze at a discount. Randall said: "It was a result of members asking if we had such a thing and is very similar to something you may get if you were a reader of The Times."
