Australian airline Qantas is to award its 25,000 employees a bonus to celebrate the organisation achieving record results in the past financial year.
Its record results bonus will see full-time employees receive a $3,000 bonus (approximately £1,730.71) each, while part-time staff are due to receive $2,500 (approximately £1,442.26) each.
Combined with a special cash payment made to staff last year, the organisation has set aside more than $160 million (£92,304,526.42) in non-executive employee benefits over the course of one year.
Qantas’s full year results recorded a 60% increase on profits year on year, with pre-tax figures of $1.53 billion (£882,662,033.91); the best recorded results in the organisation’s 95-year history.
Alan Joyce, chief executive officer at Qantas, said: “This result belongs to the Qantas Group’s amazing people. Not only have they helped deliver a record performance, they’ve also earned record satisfaction from our customers. Their outstanding contribution deserves recognition.”
