Something for the weekend: Employee-of-the-month incentives may commonly be restricted to two-legged staff members, however, brewing organisation Northern Monk Brewery Company is celebrating the achievements of its resident dog Morag (pictured), after she won a national competition to find the top office dog.
The photo competition, run by flexible work space organisation Workthere, sought to showcase the successes of a very different working demographic: office dogs. With £100 of pet goodies from Aniforte up for grabs, as well as the accolade of being named the UK’s top office dog, employers from across the country submitted snapshots of their resident furry, four-legged colleagues in a bid to win the acclaimed title.
Winner Morag, from Leeds, works at the Northern Monk Brewery Company alongside the organisation’s director Russell Bisset. Her day-to-day duties include giving brewery tours with her human colleagues.
Other pups who featured in the top 10 list work in offices based in London and Kent, across sectors such as public relations and communications.
Russell Bisset, director at the Northern Monk Brewery Company, said: “We are very pleased that Morag has won Workthere’s top dog competition and I’m sure she’ll be over the moon to receive her prize. We’ll make sure we save the treats for when she’s on her best behaviour.”
Here at Employee Benefits, we love that all employees are able to gain recognition for their hard work, regardless of whether they are human or not. An editorial team pup is increasingly looking like a good idea…
