Technology recruitment organisation MRL Group has launched a new sabbatical leave scheme, enabling its 47 global employees to take a month of fully-paid leave after every five years of service.

In addition to a month's leave at full pay, the new sabbatical scheme also provides staff with a £1,000 one-off payment.

The scheme is available to all employees across the organisation's three office locations; Brighton in the UK, Dresden in Germany, and Sophia Antipolis in France.

The new sabbatical scheme forms part of MRL Group’s employee wellbeing package. The initiative has been introduced to help address employee burnout, and to support the organisation’s recruitment and retention strategy.

David Stone, chief executive officer at MRL Group, said: “Offering great commission, employee perks, such as flexi-time and private medical care, is all well and good. But does it give recruiters the chance to take a break, recharge their batteries, have some fun, and spend time with family and friends? I would argue not. Our sabbatical does just that.

"Staff can take a month off, fully paid, without the worry of paying bills to simply do what interests them. But even better than that, we throw in £1,000 towards an air fare. I’m a firm believer travel broadens the mind. But it’s a luxury many don’t get to benefit from. So whether it’s an air fare to Australia or an all expenses safari, what’s not to love?”
