Given the evolution of the workforce and its changing needs, organizations need to understand their own needs and adapt accordingly.

Stephanie Franklin, vice president, talent and integrated HR at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, will lead a session called e-working programs: a tool to boost productivity at Employee Benefits Connect in New York on March 25, 2014.

The healthcare provider introduced a formalized e-working policy in 2009 to meet specific business needs.

She added: “We have formalized agreements with employees who work from home 100% of the time. It is formalized versus an informal ‘work from home one day a week’.

“We will be sharing that business case, and also thinking about sharing, as our organization has evolved, how we are thinking about our workforce flexibility strategy going forward, and how we’re building a strategy to support both in-house, mobile and full-time e-working options, and ensuring we have what we need to meet the business needs and our workforce’s needs.”

The session will aim to answer a range of questions, including:

  • What are the current trends in workplace flexibility practices?
  • What is the impact on employee motivation, engagement, satisfaction and turnover?
  • How can organizations increase their chances of success with workplace flexibility?
  • Strategies for strengthening the organization’s flexibility practices.

Employee Benefits Connect will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York on March 25, 2014.
