The Inn Collection Group has appointed Elizabeth Robertson as head of people and development following the creation of a new people team to attract and invest in talent.
According to the pubs group, the hire is part of a drive to attract, engage and retain talent as its workforce expands alongside its growing site portfolio.
Robertson joins the company after 14 years with independent retailer Fenwick Ltd as head of HR and training. As the portfolio continues to expand, she and the rest of the team will be responsible for embedding frameworks and policies with a people focus, as well as ramping up recognition schemes linked to group values.
Robertson, who has a “passion for leading and developing teams”, explained that The Inn Collection Group piqued her interest as she kept reading about its growth journey and people credentials in the media. She said that she is now excited to be joining the group at a pivotal time as it continues its expansion of the business and workforce.
“It's a company that wants to grow its people and it’s my job to create a framework where we can attract the best people as well as develop colleagues from within, which in turn results in an enhanced customer experience. Get the colleague experience right and the customer experience will follow. I’m looking forward to developing our people so we’re an employer of choice in the north for hospitality,” she commented.
The Inn Collection Group's managing director Sean Donkin added that he is excited to have brought in Robertson to spearhead the new people team, believing its HR calibre and “innovative” learning and development vision will set a new benchmark for hospitality opportunities in the group.
