Retailer Central Co-op has unveiled its newly redesigned digital employee recognition platform as part of its aim to offer support and resources through its people strategy.
Called the Difference Maker Hub, the platform is powered by Reward Gateway | Edenred. Its new features enable employees to view pay and benefits they may not yet be using in their total reward statements, as well as all policies and the colleague handbook in one easy-to-find location, so the majority of staff can access them 24/7, from any device.
It also has an interactive recognition space called Difference Maker of the Month, where employees can nominate each other for making a difference. Nominees are notified instantly, with nominations displayed on the recognition wall to foster a culture of recognition and appreciation.
The platform ensures employees working in food stores, funeral homes, its support centre, and those who travel and work on the road, can access the same resources and feel connected and celebrated.
To celebrate the launch, all employees who log into the hub during September will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Boots voucher.
The Difference Maker Hub was first introduced in 2022 as part of the retailer’s culture change programme, to bring recognition, wellbeing, benefits and internal communications onto one platform. More than 90% of employees are registered.
Jennifer Roberts, head of reward and wellbeing at Central Co-op, said: “Our employees are at the heart of everything we do. The new Difference Maker Hub makes it simpler for them to find the resources they need, while also shining a light on the everyday acts of co-operation and care that make such a difference to our members, communities and each other. Our employees make a difference every day to our members and customers, which makes our Society so special. It’s our job to make a difference to our employees and the Difference Maker Hub helps us to do just this.”
