Something for the weekend: US rapper 50 Cent and his business partner (influencer) Jay Mazini decided to reward employees working at a Burger King restaurant with a lump sum of cash to recognise them for their hard work during the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
Cent (pictured right) and Mazini were spotted around New York on Wednesday evening splashing the cash to unsuspecting Burger King employees.
The dynamic duo strolled to the drive-through window (without a car) and were filmed giving Burger King staff over $30,000 (£23,000) in cash. This payment was intended to recognise fast-food employees who have been giving American's their fast food fix during the pandemic.
Without social media, we would be none the wiser, but the overwhelmed employees took to Instagram at lightening speed, to share their delight and shock at the generous gesture, sharing selfies with the legends and exclaiming 'This made my whole day' and '[50 Cent] is the real deal'.
In a statement posted on Instagram Mazini said: "Me and 50 Cent had to shut Burger King down in Southside Queens, we passed over $30,000 to these hard employees during the pandemic. Change lives and connect with real ones, you deserve it."
Here at Employee Benefits, we hope that with every service requiring payment by card, that the Burger King employees are able to find somewhere to spend their well-earned physical cash...
