Something for the weekend: Supermarket chain Morrisons is opening its doors to employers that, though lacking in budget, want to offer employees a Christmas party with all the trimmings this year.
Morrisons cafes will give cash-strapped employers the opportunity to treat staff to a traditional Christmas dinner for £6.50 per head for a two course meal and £7.50 for three courses.
The sumptuous dinner menu includes traditional delights such as turkey, roast potatoes and stuffing, followed by a Christmas pudding and custard; vegans and vegetarians are not overlooked, though, as there is a mushroom wellington with all the trimmings on offer.
However, large organisations will have to rethink their last minute plans, because the Morrisons Christmas Meal Deal only caters to parties of up to 20 people.
The supermarket chain launched this initiative as it wanted to offer a solution to small businesses that are concerned about splashing the cash over the festive period, due to the uncertainty of the current economic climate.
It is never too late to get the party started, as Christmas party tables can be booked until 23 December 2019.
Helen Tordoff, head of cafes at Morrisons, said: “Some small businesses have had a tough year. so we have created the best?Christmas?meal for those on a budget. And as our cafes regularly host group meet ups, we thought we’d extend the invite to local [employers] so they can save some Christmas?costs. It will mean that more people can get into the party spirit without breaking the bank.”
Here at Employee Benefits, we are wondering whether it would help if the media were invited in to sample all of the desserts on offer? It is Christmas, after all...
