Full fibre platform CityFibre has achieved menopause-friendly employer accreditation as part of its ongoing commitment to support and recognise its employees in need.
The accreditation was established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace to certify high standards and proven practices that embrace the menopause in the workplace. It is industry-recognised and sets clear standards for employers to meet.
In order to achieve the accreditation, CityFibre was assessed by a panel and had to demonstrate evidence of its effectiveness in the areas of culture, policies and practices, training, engagement and working environment.
CityFibre was recognised due to the adjustments it has made to its working environment and the practices it has implemented to change the lived experience of menopause in the workplace. It has also demonstrated the positive impact of its actions in supporting its employees who are experiencing the condition.
Helen Hutchison, sponsor of CityFibre’s gender community and director of IT strategy, transformation and business partnership, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as a menopause-friendly employer. This accreditation reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive workplace where every stage of life is respected and understood. It’s a meaningful step toward breaking taboos and ensuring our employees feel seen, heard and valued.”
Deborah Garlick, founder and chief executive officer of Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, added: “Achieving the accreditation is a significant milestone that reflects genuine commitment, not just good intentions. CityFibre has taken important steps to raise awareness, open conversations and embed support into its culture. It’s fantastic to see the progress they’re making and their determination to continue building a truly inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.”
CityFibre offers its employees flexible working, one day a year to volunteer, wellbeing sessions and webinars on anxiety, nutrition, virtual yoga and pilates, 40 fully-trained mental health first aiders, 25 days of annual leave, performance-related bonuses and private healthcare.
