In May 2018, Audit, accounting and consulting organisation Mazars, used social media to drive leadership, communication, and engagement within the organisation.
Mazars had two aims when creating this program for employees, to create additional visibility for content, and empower employees.
With 18,000 employees in 79 countries, Mazars used a third party social media platform for employers to carry out development, drive better communication, and identify leaders within the business. The content ranges from tax to financial services, and is shared through webinars, powerpoints, and videos.
Through the platform Socialbble, employers are able to share and consume useful content, drive engagement, build recognition, and learn on all platforms. The site provides gamification mechanisms and social media features to enhance the use experience.
The thought leadership shared by various employees on the platform encourages fellow co-workers to do the same, and also significantly aids culture for such a large workforce.
Othman Abdelmoumene, group social media specialist at Mazars says: “Our users really appreciate having easy access to approved, shareable content that comes from external sources, that relates to their work and that enables them to demonstrate expertise."
“The UGC functionalities are also very popular, as they allow employees to develop thought leadership by submitting pertinent content they themselves find on the web.”
Since starting, the organisation has seen a huge increase in employee created content that many consume and share. Mazars has seen an overall user engagement rate of 88% on the platform.
Abdelmoumene continues: “Since launching Sociabble we have seen a clear increase not only in the amount of brand content that employees share, but also in the amount of new content that they create."
"Beyond launching additional instances of the Sociabble platform in the USA, the Netherlands and Asia-Pacific, Mazars’ long-term goal is now to engage all employees onthe platform. Trusting employees to advocate for their company on social media is a challenge for many organizations, not least those in highly regulated industries."
