New-five-pounds

Enterprise sales managers and global account managers receive the largest median bonuses in the UK of up to £55,000 and £33,500 respectively, according to research by Glassdoor.

Its UK jobs paying the highest bonuses report analysed the median compensation and median bonuses for jobs that have been anonymously shared by employees on the recruitment website. For a job title to be considered, a minimum of 25 bonus reports must have been submitted by UK-based employees between 21 September 2015 and 20 September 2017.

In the report, the definition of bonuses includes cash bonuses, stock bonuses, profit sharing amounts, sales commission and tips or gratuities.

The research found that global account managers could earn the second largest bonus of up to £33,500, as well as a median total compensation of £101,000 compared to an enterprise sales manager’s total median compensation of £110,000. Partners ranked third on the list with a median bonus of £30,000 and a median total compensation of £150,000.

David Whitby, UK country manager at Glassdoor, said: “The earning potential of a high-performing UK sales employee is undeniable and we are now seeing sales roles beating financial positions in terms of offering the biggest bonuses. What’s even more interesting is that a career in sales does not require what we’d call a traditional degree qualification, which suggests that high-paying and rewarding roles are more accessible than ever before in the UK.”
