Ipswich Town Football Club is to launch a master trust to comply with pensions auto-enrolment.

From 1 November, Now: Pensions will provide the pension, which will be available to the football club’s 600 eligible employees, including office staff and match-day stewards.

Denise Booth, management accountant at Ipswich Town Football Club, said: “We wanted to find a scheme that would cover all our employees, including our multitude of casual staff who only work on match days.

“We also wanted to find a provider that was low cost both to us, as an employer, and to our employees. It was also essential that the scheme was well managed, so employees would feel confident that their pension was delivering on its promises.”

Morten Nilsson, chief executive officer of Now: Pensions, added: “With a high proportion of casual staff employed only during the football season, football clubs both large and small face unique challenges and added complication when it comes to auto-enrolment.”
