Time to Talk Day 2021 will be held on Thursday 4 February, and aims to increase conversations about mental health and wellbeing. According to Time to Change, even small conversations about mental health have the power to make a big difference, and employers should encourage discussion within the workplace.
It goes without saying that the past 12 months have been difficult for many people’s mental health and wellbeing. With more people working at home and isolated away from their peers, conversations can be few and far between.
This means that driving conversation about mental health right now is hugely important. Many people already face barriers to talking about their mental health due to stigma and fear. Employers can also help increase discussion and awareness through employee benefits, such as employee assistance programmes and financial wellbeing strategies.
