Global information services organisation Wolters Kluwer has promoted Bill Baker to the role of chief human resources officer.
Baker has been with the company since 2013, most recently as executive vice president of global rewards and HR service delivery. In his former position, he led an HR transformation programme that included the modernisation of the organisation's global HR infrastructure, improving analytics and supporting employee talent and reward strategies.
Prior to this, Baker served as a vice president and divisional head of HR, working with the leadership of Wolters Kluwer’s governance, risk and compliance division. Before joining the business, Baker held a number of HR executive positions at Guardian Life and Hummingbird/OpenText.
In his new post Baker will report to Nancy McKinstry, chief executive and chair of the executive board.
McKinstry said: “I am very pleased that we have a strong leader internally for the next chapter in HR. Bill has extensive experience that will be instrumental to drive our ambitious agenda as a company since talent is a key enabler for realising our potential. The dedication of our highly specialised employees is one of our greatest strengths and critical to our future success."
According to Baker, the talent of colleagues and the strength of its teams had been a differentiator in the organisation's success.
He said: "To ensure our customers can continue to count on us, we will remain sharply focused on being a leading employer where people can be themselves, be innovative, be respected, and be impactful."
Baker added that he looks forward to collaborating with the leadership of the company and his HR colleagues around the world to "keep aiming higher and delivering for our employees and our customers".
His appointment follows the departure of Maryjo Charbonnier, who is leaving the organisation to pursue other career opportunities.
