Gerald Eve has been accredited as a living wage employer by the Living Wage Foundation.
The property consultancy, which employs 432 staff across nine offices, has committed to paying at least the living wage rate to all employees and third party staff. This includes working with cleaning and catering service providers to ensure wages are in line with or above this voluntary rate.
The accreditation forms part of the organisation’s commitment to ensuring all employees and third party staff are paid a fair wage that is in line with the cost of living.
The voluntary living wage currently stands at £8.25 an hour, and £9.40 in London. It is separate from the government's national living wage rate of £7.20 an hour, which is a statutory requirement for those aged 25 and over.
Sarah Palmer (pictured), HR director at Gerald Eve, said: “Gaining accreditation as a living wage employer demonstrates our commitment to be a fair employer not only to our staff, but those that work in our offices on a regular basis who ensure they run smoothly.
“Being an accredited living wage employer, and a Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies To Work For, reflects the [organisation’s] commitment to our values of integrity, friendliness and excellence. We truly value the people that work for us and aspire to be an employer of choice in the property industry.”
