Post-merger Friends Life has begun to harmonise family-friendly benefits and policies in an effort to retain working mothers.
The financial services firm, created by the merger of Friends Provident and the life assurance business of Bupa and Axa UK, has been identifying heritage policies and benefits it wants to extend across its 5,500-strong workforce.
Moves include rolling out childcare vouchers to all staff and allowing everyone to request flexible working. It is also considering offering a bonus to new mothers returning to work.
Kim Clarke, head of HR, said: “We will have made significant investment in training and knowledge management of those employees. There is an opportunity to retain that."
