Dawn Roberts, HR director at Northwood Hygiene Products, will present a session on financial wellbeing on the second day of Employee Benefits Live 2025.
From payday pressure to financial empowerment: How Northwood Hygiene Products drove financial wellbeing among frontline workers, which will take place on Thursday 2 Oct at 1.45pm in Theatre Three, will focus on how the organisation has used financial awareness and inclusive employee benefits as a strategic tool to improve retention, engagement, and overall wellbeing in a competitive labour market.
By sharing the journey of how its HR strategy was built, Roberts will demonstrate how financial literacy, access to support, and tailored benefits directly reduce churn and strengthen productivity.
Roberts will also discuss the challenges of high labour turnover in a 24/7 FMCG environment and why financial wellbeing became a priority, as well as initiatives such as early access to pay, enhanced pension education, wellbeing apps, salary sacrifice arrangements, and volunteering opportunities.
“I will also cover the impact of these initiatives, higher engagement, improved registrations, increased benefit take up, and better attraction of apprentices, and the importance of communication, making benefits accessible to all colleagues, especially deskless shift workers, through technology and blended learning,” she said.
Roberts hopes attendees will learn about how investing in financial awareness and wellbeing can reduce turnover and increase employee satisfaction from her presentation.
“My hope is that they will learn how to make financial literacy engaging and accessible to diverse groups, including hourly paid staff and apprentices, and concrete examples of low-cost, high-impact initiatives that can be implemented in any organisation to support attraction, retention, and overall employee wellbeing,” she added.
Part of the financial wellbeing stream, the session is sponsored by AAG Financial Education.
