The University of Sheffield will discuss financial wellbeing in the workplace at Employee Benefits Live 2016.
Andrew Dodman (pictured), chief HR and corporate officer at the University of Sheffield, will present the session titled Understanding the DNA of financial wellbeing and its impact on the UK workforce, alongside Heidi Allan, head of insights and engagement at Neyber, on Wednesday 12 October.
During the session, Dodman will talk through the steps the University of Sheffield is taking to support the financial wellbeing of its employees, as well as the plans it has in place for the future.
The session will highlight how financial worries can impact employees at work, such as a lack of focus, loss of sleep, reduction in productivity, and stress-related absences.
Allan will also examine the financial needs and worries of different generations of employees, and how these affect their ability to perform at their best in the workplace.
The session will discuss the role that employers can play in supporting the financial wellbeing of staff, including access to support mechanisms during times of financial stress, and increasing financial awareness so that employees are empowered to make informed decisions.
Dodman said: "Financial wellness is not only an important element of a health and benefits strategy, but should also be seen as integral to the delivery of sustained staff engagement and commitment.
"Staff rightly look to their trusted employer to offer financial education and practical solutions, and it is for organisations to respond in an innovative and supportive manner."
