EXCLUSIVE: Visualsoft offered its 200 employees free therapeutic massages and flu vaccination vouchers as part of an initiative to highlight National Stress Awareness Day on 4 November.

The web development organisation also provided its employees with free vitamins, supplied by the Boots Employee Wellbeing Scheme, as part of the initiative, which was held at its Stockton-On-Tees and London offices.

A total of 67 staff requested a free flu vaccination voucher and 32 received therapeutic workplace massages, which were provided by local therapists.

Visualsoft communicated the initiative to its employees via social media throughout the day. It also handed out leaflets from mental health charity Mind in order to highlight the importance of stress awareness at work.

Emma Hart, HR manager at Visualsoft, said: “It’s gone down very well so we are thinking of making this a regular event.

“We had lots more requests from staff [for the massages, vitamins and flu vaccinations], so we are also planning to continue [offering them] so that everyone who wants one gets one.

“At Visualsoft we are passionate about our employees' wellbeing at work, and we've done this to help raise awareness of stress within the workplace.”
