EXCLUSIVE: University of Lincoln to discuss reinventing benefit strategies during Covid-19 at EB Reset 2020

EXCLUSIVE: Ian Hodson, head of reward at the University of Lincoln, will discuss the impact that the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has had on benefits strategies at Employee Benefits Reset 2020.

The strategy session titled ‘Aligning benefits with employees’ preferences in the new normal‘ will take place at 3.30pm on Wednesday 7 October in the first ever Employee Benefits online series of keynotes, how-to and strategy sessions, which will run from 5 – 16 October.

During his session, Hodson will discuss what the impact that the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has had on reward packages and how cash benefits have changed due to the financial uncertainty that the pandemic has brought onto businesses.

Hodson believes businesses that have used cash rewards previously to motivate and recognise employees face a new challenge in the working world. Hodson will also offer information and insights into initiatives that the University of Lincoln have introduced as an initial response to the Coronavirus pandemic such as their wellbeing website HomeHub.

He will also touch upon how development can be integrated into a reward package for businesses, to ensure that employees are still learning and growing while working remotely.

Hodson said: “Most organisations have a tight budget now to work with due to the pandemic, so they have to think more creatively about how to engage and motivate individuals.

"One thing that many employers forgot about working remotely, is that employees learn so much when they are in a working environment all of the time from colleagues around us who are mentoring and developing new starters. It is important to transform initiatives that were originally used in the office, to virtual so employee wellbeing and engagement is being supported as much as possible."

Attendees can register to attend all keynotes and sessions for free.
