Eversheds has launched a cycle to work scheme to boost its green credentials and promote healthy living among its workforce.
The law firm set the scheme live in May, after employees expressed an interest in cycling to work. Around 2,700 of the firm's 3,600 staff members are eligible to take part in the salary sacrifice scheme, which is run in conjunction with Halfords.
Participating employees can make savings of up to 30% and 40% on the price of a bike, which they will pay for over a 12 month period.
Helen Barton, HR reward adviser at Eversheds, said: "We're a global operation and obviously by promoting an alternative way that people can travel to and from work will have an impact on the environment and our carbon footprint.
"Also we are trying to promote healthy living, again that's something at the forefront of people's minds."
Information on the scheme has been made available in the employee handbook and staff also have been provided with a fact sheet, informing of them about the savings that can be made. General information on the scheme has also been sent out via email.
