Duncan Brown, head of HR consultancy at the Institute for Employment Studies (IES), will discuss the challenges surrounding pay structures and benchmarking in the current climate at Employee Benefits Live 2016.
Brown will close the performance and talent conference stream on Wednesday 12 October with his session entitled Benchmarking reward and compensation structures: let the market rip?
During the session, Brown will look at the challenges facing public and private sector employers in today’s labour market and economic climate, such as the competition for talent, and market uncertainty surrounding Brexit.
Brown will discuss how employers can balance internal equity with external market pressures when approaching pay.
Brown (pictured) said: “Organisations are having to take more attention of the external market, but internal relativities, and internal management and fairness are as important as they ever were.
“How do [organisations] resolve those two sets of issues and can [they] balance the market and what the market says [they] have to pay with [their] internal relativities and affordability?”
Employee Benefits Live 2016 will take place on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 October at Olympia National London. Register to attend for free and view the full conference programme.
