Employee Benefits poll: More than two-fifths (46%) of respondents believe that having a good work-life balance is the top engagement driver at their organisation.

A straw poll of www.employeebenefits.co.uk readers, which received 48 responses, also found that 29% of respondents feel that their organisational culture is the strongest engagement driver for their employees, compared to 10% who cited their business’ employee benefits package as the highest engagement driver for staff.

A further 8% of respondents think that recognition by senior leaders is the top engagement driver for their employees, while 2% feel peer recognition is a higher driver of engagement. Around 4% define learning and development opportunities as the top engagement driver for their specific workforce.

The 2018 Trends in Middle East and North Africa employee engagement report, published by global professional services firm Aon in August 2018, found that reward and recognition is the strongest engagement driver for employees based in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Following this, the second ranked engagement driver, according to the report, is career and development. Talent and staffing ranked third, ahead of employee value proposition in fourth and senior leadership in fifth.

In total, 69% of the 258,662 employees surveyed for the report are engaged with their organisation.
