EXCLUSIVE: Edenred has launched a guide to help employers improve employee engagement.
It aims to help organisations work with managers to ensure reward and benefits better support employee engagement, improve organisational performance and deliver return on investment.
The guide builds on the ideas of Engage for Success, the new movement led by David MacLeod and Nita Clarke, co-authors of the government’s review on employee engagement, which aims to help UK organisations rethink their approach to motivation and performance.
The guide also covers:
- Why employee engagement is key to reward and benefits strategy.
- The link between managers and engagement.
- Partnering with managers for delivery.
- Getting the tactics right.
- Feedback and collaboration.
Andy Philpott (pictured), sales and marketing director at Edenred, said: “As organisations look at the year ahead and consider how they can maintain or improve performance, we think that the biggest gains can be made by focusing on increased employee engagement as a key outcome from benefits and reward strategy.
“The guide we are publishing aims to help organisations achieve that by taking their thinking beyond what they provide in their core benefits and reward mix, and focusing on the role of the manager in delivering performance and engagement as the starting point.
“At the heart of our thinking is the idea that we need to do more with what we already have in organisations. We believe that by focusing on what really matters – the employees who service our customers, the managers who support them and how we can help them – performance and success will follow.”
