Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) has launched a new website to help staff understand the broader financial context of their pension decisions.
To promote the launch of its timeformoney.co.uk site, DMGT is inviting employees to enter a competition to win a free financial makeover worth £1,000 from leading financial advisers, Hargreaves Lansdown, which is providing specialist input to this website.
The makeover will cover topics such as ‘making the most of your money’ and ‘saving tax’ and aims to set the employee on ‘the right road to financial security.’
The launch will be followed by further developments to enhance the financial information and tools available on the site, which is provided by Shilling Communication.
Teresa Berkengoff, pensions communications and policy manager at DMGT, said, ‘Our employees are being faced with greater investment and annuity risks in defined contribution pensions and the board wanted the site to provide enough information to fill a knowledge gap. We also wanted to show DMGT is a leader in its field – providing financial awareness within the workplace in an engaging way. Shilling was able to help us meet this vision."
Peter Garrett, web designer at Shilling, added, “The site is designed to look engaging and to be interesting and varied. We researched lots of other public and corporate financial information sites, and many fall far short of what we would see as the required standard. Working closely with the pensions team at DMGT we believe we have come up with an excellent tool for employees.’
