Computershare employees are getting active to raise money for charity in September.†

Computershare employees, along with clients and contacts, will be cycling through Namibia on a 530-kilometre route that started in Windhoek on 3 September and ends in Walvis Bay three days later.

Funds raised through sponsorship, as well as a yard sale, auction and cake sale in the UK, will go to Computershare’s global charitable initiative, Change a Life Mike Thomson Trust.

Last year’s cycle event raised 3.5 million South African rand for the trust, which was set up following the murder of an employee from the firm’s South African office in 2007.

Seven employees from Computershare Voucher Services will climb Mount Snowdon to raise £750 for the provider’s charitable partner, Honeypot House, a respite centre for young carers and vulnerable children.

Additional charitable activities available to Computershare and Computershare Voucher Services' employees include: volunteering at Honeypot House; a litter pick as part of a commitment to local communities and becoming a greener employer; and a Reading Buddies initiative, with 21 employees reading with local primary school children during one lunch hour each week.
